Rutherford college board of trustees is constituted of five parent representatives with other members co-opted on by the board for their particular area of expertise.
All parents will receive a nomination form by 15 march. You can nominate yourself as long as you have a child attending this school. If you know someone who you think would be good as a trustee but they no longer have children attending, you can nominate them if you have a child attending [as long as they agree of course].
It is essential we have the correct information on file for you. Please remember to update any changes if you move or get a new phone or cell phone number. Each family is entitled to up to three votes. This could be mother, father or other caregiver (like step mother, aunty or uncle if they are the main caregiver etc) so please endeavour to get all information to us if want to participate fully in the elections. Please contact us to provide updates.

Dear Parents / Caregivers
B BLOCK UPGRADE NEWS
The upgrade of B Block is well underway and as a school community we can look forward to
modernised English and Media Studies teaching spaces. During the demolition phase
asbestos has been discovered which is not totally unexpected as this material was used in
many buildings built in the early 1960’s. As part of the upgrade, all asbestos will be removed
by a professional asbestos removal company before Christmas.
PAID UNION MEETING
TUESDAY 17 NOVEMBER, 2009
To facilitate the Paid Union Meeting that staff are entitled to, the school will have a shortened day on Tuesday 17 November, 2009. This affects Junior students only as Senior students will be on study leave and should attend any scheduled examinations as per normal.
Junior students have examinations scheduled in the morning and must attend after which they will be dismissed at 12.25pm.

Dear Parent/Caregiver
RE: Changes to the Late Reporting System
We realise that there are times when non attendance and arriving late to school is unavoidable and the College seeks parents/caregivers cooperation in ensuring that their son or daughter misses as little class time as possible. Student attendance closely relates to academic progress, and even arriving 5 minutes late at the beginning of a period not only causes disruption for the student who is late but also to other members of that class.
8.40 am start time for Wednesday 16th September due to Senior Assessment week.
Normal finish time of 3.05 pm.
