Study Tip #3 17/10/08

**30 STUDY DAYS TILL EXAMS**

*14 SCHOOL DAYS TILL EXAMS*

Study Tip #3:

Set up a regular study plan!

  1. What study will you do on top of your homework?
  2. Pick a subject a night and do a bit extra
  3. Generally, if you schedule certain times of the day to study, you will get into a routine and accomplish more. If you just “fit it in” during your day, chances are that there will never be any time.
  4. Make it like an appointment, for example: “Tuesday 3-4:30 P.M. — Study.”

Check back tomorrow for the next tip, and make the most of classes and tutorials while they last!

Study Tip #2 16/10/08

**31 STUDY DAYS TILL EXAMS**

*15 SCHOOL DAYS TILL EXAMS*

Study Tip #2:

Organise your study area!!

  1. Arrange all study material in an organised manner – put it in topics
  2. Make sure all notes are complete!

Check back tomorrow for the next tip, and make the most of classes and tutorials while they last!

Study tip #1 15/10/08

**32 STUDY DAYS TILL EXAMS**

*16 SCHOOL DAYS TILL EXAMS*

 Study Tip #1:

Create the learning environment!!

  1. Find a space to be on your own
  2. Use good lighting
  3. Take a 10 minute break every 50 minutes
  4. Short bursts of concentration repeated frequently are better one long session.
  5. The brain needs recovery and recharging time, so take a break after 30 minutes for around 10 minutes. To sit and study for hours and hours is not only boring, it creates tiredness, stress, and distraction.
Check back tomorrow for the next tip, and make the most of classes and tutorials while they last!

Assessment Information 2006

NCEA is the national qualification for all Year 11-13 students.

NCEA uses standards (achievement standards and unit standards) to show what students know and can do. Other certificates use unit standards.

Every standard is worth a set number of credits. You collect credits when you achieve the standard. When you have a total of 80 credits you have your NCEA at Level 1*. When you collect 60 credits at Level 2, you have your Level 2. Other certificates require different totals of credits and particular units.
