Jordan King popped into school to catch-up with some of his teachers last week, straight off the plane form Melbourne. He went to Melbourne to do his Masters in Computing after doing his Bachelor degree at AUT. He’s now working in IT for the Australian Defence Force, who are paying for him to finish his Masters and he wanted to say thanks – thanks for the $2500.00 Waitakere Trust Trade Scholarship that set him on his way. American History through Black Eyes Student Day

Imagine having to go to school surrounded be heavily armed paratroopers to protect you. In Little Rock, Arkansas, in 1957, this was the reality for nine black students who wanted to attend the local white high school. When the Arkansas State government sought to maintain segregation in schools, The Federal government of Dwight Eisenhower sent in the 101 Airborne Paratroopers to protect the students and force the integration of Little Rock High School. Tag Football

Two teams headed to Moire Park on Thursday, 5 April to compete in College Sports Tag Football tournament. The day began with the girl’s team taking on Northcote and narrowly missing out on taking three points from them.  The girls rounded up the pool with two wins against Long Bay and Selwyn and a draw against St Dominics earning them a bronze play off with Green Bay. If it’s time to branch out and explore some new cuisines we have a great selection of hands-on classes to choose from in Term 2. All of our tutors are truly amazing, totally experienced and many use authentic recipes originating from their home country.
