Kia ora te whanau o te Kotuku Throughout the journey, from a fledging kotuku through…
On Saturday, 24 August, The Rutherford 9B netball team played for 1st or 2nd place against Avondale college. It was great seeing all the support from friends and family including our own Rutherford whanau come to cheer us on. We are extremely grateful.
It was the last game of the season and it was definitely a tough one. We were working hard; doing different skills and drills to prepare for the game. When the game came, we had a positive mindset and ready to play to the best of our ability. The other team was quite tough but we didn’t let that stop us from having fun and doing our best. Throughout the first half of the game we were in the lead, but sadly Avondale bet us by only 1 goal.
Even though we didn’t win, second place was a great accomplishment for our team. We had all worked so hard and it was great to see the outcome of coming second and getting silver medals at the prizegiving. We have all improved so much as a team and it was an awesome experience playing with so many great people. The game was such a good way to end the season and we are all excited to play again next year for our school.
