2020 School Donation

2020 School Donation

The Board of Trustees of Rutherford College has opted into the Ministry of Education Donation Scheme for 2020. This means the school will not be requesting a contribution to the 2020 School Donation. However, there will be fees for overnight trips, sport, cultural activities and subjects with a take-home component. The school also will be asking for a voluntary contribution for some subjects and trips. These will be treated as a donation and you can claim a credit from the IRD. During the last few weeks of school, our students were given the chance to do something a little different in their PE lessons. Olympic Wrestling coach, Clinton Terry, a professional coach based at Club Physical Te Atatu, came along to the school to pass on his expertise. This was offered to a few Junior PE classes as an alternative activity on the back of sessions that were run for Rutherford Primary schools students. We are now taking bookings online and over the phone for our 2020 programme.  We've got over 40 new courses and lots of the old favourites back. Make 2020 the year to study a subject you have always been interested in, refine an existing skill or branch out into unexplored territory.

Locker Renewal 2020/ Locker Clearance

All students who have hired a locker this year MUST remove all contents by Monday, 9 December and leave it unlocked. If you don't, the lock will be removed and contents disposed of. If you want to renew your locker for 2020 please do so in reception. If you don't sign for renewal the locker will become available for anyone to hire.

Defensive Driving Course

The defensive driving course is a NZTA approved course designed for those on restricted or learner license. This course allows you to fast track the waiting period between restricted and full licenses. The course will reduce the waiting period by 6 months. There are four class room sessions that last for 2 hours each as well as a single practical driving lesson.
