Rutherford Knitting Club

The Rutherford knitting club is underway every Wednesday lunch in the Info Comms. We have had some wonderful donations of needles and yarn from our community, so bring yourself and your lunch and try out a new skill. Seth Stylianou takes out National Title

A massive congratulation to Seth Stylianou who received 1st place in the 2020 New Zealand National Championship in Mountainbike Downhill. Seth also achieved 2nd place at the Oceania championships racing against a very competitive field Congratulations on your well-deserved victory. Last Dad Standing

Kayla Imrie New Zealands Olympic Kayaker

On Wednesday, 1 July Kayla Imrie New Zealand's Olympic Kayaker and ambassador, came in to speak to the Year 10 Sports Excellence Class. She passed on key messages about nutrition for sports performance. She provided valuable information on the food groups and how they help in sports performance. For example, protein is needed for muscle recovery and strength, carbohydrates provide glucose for fuel.
