School Closed until 7 February

Kia ora Parents and Caregivers We hope you and your family are keeping safe in the heavy weather. Although the school is ready to open for instruction tomorrow, we will follow the directive just received from the Secretary of Education to close the school until 7 February. The Secretary of Education was asked to take this action to minimise traffic on Auckland roads over the next week. This will allow for assessment and remedial work to be started on areas that have encountered slips or flooding. Further bad weather is also expected which will exacerbate an already dire situation. Pat Hanly Creativity Award Winners!

The Pat Hanly Award for creativity, presented by Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tamaki, is for outstanding creativity and commitment to the Visual Arts. Secondary schools in the Auckland region only can nominate a maximum of two students. Jemima Tichborne and Tyra Ibbott were our two top students to be nominated for this award this year. Ice Hockey World Championships

Now is a good opportunity to recognise our latest National representative, Zadia Paulse (10BU). Zadia has been selected to represent New Zealand in our National Womens U18 Ice Hockey team. She will be competing with the team at the IIHF World Championships being held in Sofia, Bulgaria early 2023. She will be travelling to Europe for the tournament that commences on 26 January and going through to the final day on 1 February 2023.
