A family full of champions

Emma and Dylan Chapman competed at the Northern region surf lifesaving championships over the past week. This event puts competitors’ skills to the test in a range of beach and ocean competitions where they can showcase their talents.

This event took place at Orewa Beach on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings. It’s normally on a weekend but was delayed due to the cyclone.

Both Emma and Dylan came away with some fantastic results. Their achievements are highlighted below, and we congratulate both students on their outstanding achievements.In a strong field of surf lifesaving competitors Emma and her crew competed in a short course surf boats event and won gold.

Dylan placed in 6 out of the 9 events he competed in. He won four bronze medals in the beach sprints, diamond, surf swim and ski. He also won two silver medals in the beach
