Congratulations to six of our Rutherford juniors for competing in the Aotearoa Spelling Bee and being selected for the regional finals! They had to get over 80% of the first round correct. They are Anahita Madon, Luca Armitage, James Wong, Theo Meek, Vincent Nguyen and Devashri Srinivasan.

This group will compete at the Q Theatre in Queen Street on Monday, 23 August to hopefully win an expenses-paid place at the Wellington Grand Final in November and $5000 first prize.

The challenge includes English and Te Reo words, as well as some with Latin and Greek origins. Can you spell words like irāmutu, catharsis, and obsequious?
