On Monday, 25 February, the Art Department took the Year 10 and Year 11 Design students to the zoo to gather information for their future projects.
The year 10’s practiced animal drawings in preparation for their Aran Rescue pet drawing project, which will raise money for dog rescue.
The year 11 students will be illustrating a children’s story based on Aesops Fables, using animals that they chose at the zoo. They will illustrate and simplify them into characters.
The weather wasn’t too hot so all the animals came out and we had some great views, such as the lions who often hide in the shade. Some students, like Harrison, wore his animal themed clothing.
All students were respectful and enjoyed the trip, as Rutherford students do, and the Zoo commented on how impressed they were by their manners.
