On Saturday, 23 November, a group of year 9 and 10 Rutherford Students from the Japanese classes attended a language day at Auckland University, run by the North Asia CAPE secondary schools conference.
They got to taste Japanese tea and Matcha chocolate, learn how to write calligraphy, watch a Taiko drumming performance and listen to the history of kanji in Japan, as well as learn about manga.
The day was educational, but mostly it was a lot of fun.
