On Sunday, the Rutherford College climbing team was lucky enough to compete in the first round of the Auckland College Climbing Series hosted at Extreme Edge Panmure.
It was an awesome day, with over 100 competitors from schools around Auckland under the new Covid-19 guidelines. Rutherford consisted of a team of 8 and all had an enjoyable day.
There was a chilli eating competition courtesy of event sponsors Red Chilli climbing.
Rutherford had an individual podium finish by team member Tyra Ibbott in 3rd place smashing out a tough finals’ climb after 2 hours of qualifiers. Overall, Rutherford are sitting 9th in the series with 3 more rounds to go.  Awesome work team.
