The Rutherford student Environmental Committee has planted well over our annual target of one tree/plant for every Rutherford child or adult, with 2000 planted so far.

1500 are now growing happily along the edge of our fields, providing a buffer to stop litter, wind, erosion and allow us to progress our pest control in this area. These plants were planted in a single day with the help of 8 junior classes.

The next 500 were planted as part of the Whau River restoration, and we are very happy to be starting work with this group and the beautiful new walkway along this awa in our community.
