Foundation Pupils – return for a visit

These founding pupils had a tour of the school and enjoyed some delicious cakes made by our students when they paid us a visit on 8 September 2017.

They were part of a group of 153 pupils who first walked in the gates of the newly built Rutherford College on the first day of school in 1961.

Back then there were no fields, no School Hall and only B Block for them to have their classes in. They had a strip of concrete around B Block to walk around during interval and lunch.

They were amazed at how big the school has grown and what great facilities were now available now for students.

Because they were a very small group they developed some strong bonds and regularly keep in touch.

Two of our visitors now live in Perth and the Gold Coast but love coming back to meet up with their buddies from the good old days.
