German Speech Competition 2020
This year’s German Speaking Competition of the University of Auckland Goethe Society was held on Saturday, 1 August.
Rutherford College had five participants in the competition who had to showcase their German language skills in a short speech and in unrehearsed interactions.
Our Year 10 students Luca Boyack and Tinirau Hohepa did particularly well with Luca achieving second place and Tinirau achieving third place in their category. Year 12 students Rebecca Wilson and Aissey Escasenas managed to gain a “commended” grade and Alex Johnsons came out of the competition with a “distinction” grade.
Congratulations to all participants. Prizegiving will take place on Thursday, 17 September at 7pm at the Fisher and Paykel Auditorium at the University of Auckland Business School.
