Get To Go Junior Challenge
The day started looking not too promising after a night of rain. We piled into vans and drove to Western Springs for our team briefing. Our first challenge was a mountain biking relay around a small, muddy park. This was followed by a rogain event among the ducks and swans at Western Springs. The weather was kind and we were able to enjoy some spring sunshine which made the events much more appealing.
For the afternoon, we drove across the Harbour Bridge to Lake Pupuke where we did a team challenge involving blindfolds, tiles and a ball on a stick. The last event of the day was a stand up paddle boarding relay in the lake. We managed to frighten a few birds on the lake and some people got to enjoy an unscheduled swim!
The highlights of the day were the teamwork, the enjoyment of new challenges and being pushed out of our comfort zones.
We’d all like to thank Ms Bakker and Ms Halliday for their time and encouragement on the day.
