Goethe Society Oral German Language Competition at the University of Auckland

On Saturday, 11 August nine German language students from Rutherford College took part in this year’s German language competition from the Goethe Society of Auckland University.

The students had to introduce themselves in German and then engage in an unrehearsed interaction in German with the examiners.

Our students mastered this challenge really well and made Rutherford College proud.

Rebecca Wilson, Aissey Escasenas, Jacinta Brown and Alex Johnson competed in the Year 10 category and achieved two silver and two gold awards.

Zabrin Consing, Vicki Varava and Katie Collis were awarded Bronze and Silver Awards for their age group and Kyra Brown and Tracy Feng got commended for their challenging 30 minute long interaction in German.
