Going Places

This week, Year 12 and 13 Travel classes had an industry visit from Ceri and Michelle who work for the International Travel College of NZ (ITC). Michelle has been a tour guide in Europe and NZ and a travel agent. Ceri has a background in sales and training and works with employers of ITC students and schools.
We learned that now is a great time to get into the industry and thousands of workers are needed especially in travel agencies, inbound work and in aviation. If Rutherford students would like some experience a great way to start would be by volunteering at the upcoming Rugby and Football Women World Cups.
Ceri was even kind enough to give our students advice on job applications and CV’s. Key takeaways were to check your phone messages regularly and be careful what you post on social media if you are applying for jobs!
