The Goethe Institute New Zealand and the New Zealand Handball federation have kindly offered to support our school by paying for ten weekly Handball sessions here at Rutherford College.

Earlier this year we participated in “Learn German by playing handball project” and the people running this project were so impressed with the language and sporting talent of our students, that they decided to provide more coaching to Rutherford students. The College was also give 20 brand new handballs.

Last Wednesday was our first training session. Coach Jakob Jaeger from Germany gave the 25 students who signed up a real workout. We are hoping to move up to a more competitive level in 2023.
