Rutherford College recently had the privilege and pleasure of sending 20 girls (10 from Rutherford College and 10 from Te Atatu Intermediate), for a week with Hillary Outdoors to the Tongaririo Centre.

In addition to the lifelong friendships made, the Hillary Outdoors experience has built confidence in so many girls and in such a short time.  We have already witnessed the development of their leadership qualities to a new level that would not have been possible for many, prior to their week at the Tongariro Centre.

The entire experience was unparalleled in its benefits and the Hillary Outdoors course from 21 – 25 May at the Tongariro Centre, was only made possible by the generous funding received from Foundation North and Pub Charity.  Without this, the course would not have been an option for our girls and the life skills learning achievement they experienced, would otherwise never have become a reality.

We are truly grateful for this amazing opportunity.
