On Tuesday, 15 May, the Auckland zone inter-school cross country was held at Moire Park in Massey. We had a cast of 12 students represent the mighty Kotuku on a bright and sunny autumn day.

The junior girls’ category was the first to start their race and we had four girls racing in a field of about sixty. As it turned out, our highest placing for the day also came from this category with Emily Muspratt coming 20th. She was followed by Emily Wickens who finished 24th.

Although the conditions were pristine, the competition was fierce. It was obvious that these students had taken part in many long hours of training prior to this event. There was a school from the North Shore that totally dominated the day, but will remain nameless for legal reasons.

Our students ran hard and did us proud. Looking forward to next years competition!
