Kia ora te whanau o te kotuku Earth school – The school for our lifetime.…
On Wednesday, 23 October the Junior girls competed in the Central North West Tag Football Tournament at Moire Park. Although the day began with strong winds and hail thankfully it brightened up for most of the day to allow them to play.
They played their first game against Auckland Girls and they were up against tough opposition from the get-go. It was warm-up for the girls, as the game got going they improved throughout. Orewa was their final opposition in their pool and it was another strong competition. In the semi-finals, the girls took on Mahurangi and scored some great tries and really enjoyed the game.
Unfortunately the final was against the tougher team, Carmel College, they started off strong but with some tries being disallowed they missed out on the win.
Overall it was a great day out and the girls really enjoyed themselves and represented Rutherford well.
