Lennart Wimmer was a member of the New Zealand U18 Mens Ice Hockey team that competed at the 2023 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship Division 3 in South Africa in March.

The young Ice blacks haven’t played in an international tournament since 2019. The team went on to secure gold with a 7-12 victory over the host nation in their last game of competition. The gold medal was New Zealand’s first at any level of IIHF play since 2018.
