NetSafe Online Safety Talk – a free event Monday, 28 June
A free event for parents and whānau about keeping young people safe online.

Netsafe’s Education Advisor Shelley Hirst will be talking about the risks, challenges, and opportunities of digital technology, and the practical ways we can all help young people stay safe online.
The session topics will include an approach to understanding the digital landscape as a parent or caregiver; raising the awareness of specific popular apps and their impact; privacy considerations; how to deal with unwanted contact and online bullying. We will also examine the Harmful Digital Communications Act (HDCA) and how young people can access Netsafe for guidance and support.
