With our School Cross Country day postponed until next Friday 10 June, it was unfortunate that we weren’t able to have more students able to participate at the North West Zone Cross-Country Championships held on Tuesday 17 May.
We did have athletes participating and competing their best against the other schools from our area, and especially the army that is Westlake who had multitudes of runners on the track. Our athletes competed creditably in the various grades with Dylan Chapman performing best coming in 16th place in a field of 44 in the Junior Boys event.
It was a cool “wintry” day, so I’m sure the fun of a slippery, wet track made for an adventurous run. Hopefully our School Cross Country day will have some adventures as well, as we descend on the Pony Club once again and battle the obstacles and undulating terrain that awaits.
