On Friday 4th May, 6 students headed off to Herne Bay Petanque Club to compete at the 2018 Schools Petanque tournament.

Team 1 consisted of Kaila Ru, Nakita Ru and Tesara Keil who finished 10th out of the 23 competing schools – an excellent result.

Team 2 were no strangers to the sport – Nathan Carretier, Tom Heloire and Guillaume Bourhis all from the home of Petanque. The boys narrowly missed out on a medal finish as they took on Rangitoto in the 3rd/4th playoff.

Both teams showed suburb sportsmanship throughout the day and did Rutherford extremely proud – congratulations!
