Parent/Student/Teacher Conferences
Thank you to all the parents and caregivers who braved the blustery wet weather last night to meet with subject teachers. We were pleased with the number of bookings made over a range of year levels. Teachers enjoy the face-to-face meetings and the opportunity to discuss progress, achievement or suggest improvements or extension for your son or daughter. It is always a valuable and meaningful exercise for all parties. Our next opportunity for conferences is Term 3, but if you have any concerns prior to that date they can be directed to your son or daughter’s tutor teacher in the first instance, or to the Dean of the Year level if you need to discuss matters further.
Front and Back Gates
This is another reminder that our gates will be operational soon. This means the gates will be closed during the school day. Gates will be open after 3.30pm for sport and community education. Access will only be granted by reception staff. We request you not enter the grounds to drop off or pick up your son or daughter at any time, it is a hazard having multiple cars entering and exiting during times when there is a high volume of pedestrian traffic. The church on Old Te Atatu Road is agreeable to parents waiting there in the carpark for pick up and drop off of any students. This is preferable and safer for you and your son or daughter. Pedestrian access is always available at the front gate all day and the back gate will have pedestrian access before and after school for students. Once inside the grounds the gates will automatically release when any vehicle is exiting the driveway.
Property Update
The C Block toilets are nearly ready for use. The plan was to have them operational at the beginning of Term 2, however we have experienced some unexpected delays to the project. They should be operational within the next two weeks hopefully. Once they have been finalized we will be moving on to upgrading D Block toilets.
