A big congratulations to our Rutherford badminton teams and a job well done for yet another wonderful display of badminton throughout the winter season.

In particular, I would like to draw attention to our Rutherford boys A grade team who claimed the gold medal for the Waitakere Championships, dropping only one game in 12 while humbly defeating 11 other competitors to make their way into the finals and claiming first place for the Kotuku.

Congratulations to Benjamin Quach, Brandan Tan, Samson Wen and Phonephet Phalouka, who unfortunately has moved schools but still remains part of our Kotuku whanau, for placing top of the table in A grade badminton and hopefully, the success and enjoyment remains consistent for 2020’s badminton season.
