Rutherford College School Ball

On Thursday, 30 May 2019 The Rutherford College Ball “007 Casino Royale” was held in the North Lounge at Eden Park.

It was a balmy evening as students congregated and waited for the doors to open. An impressive array of classic cars, neon flashing hot rods and limousines arrived to drop off the stunningly dressed 290 students and 40 teachers.

The entrance to the lounge was flanked with James Bond cut-outs, red drapes, and the red carpet. The tables were chequerboard black and white with red sashes. Each table had a centerpiece of a very large martini glass vase filled with either black or white ostrich feathers subtly lighted with gold satin and fairy lights.

Table mats were designed by the Student Ticket Design Team of Zabrina Consing (12PW), Faith Tan (12FS) and Nicole Potter (12BK) to keep as a memento. (If any student who would still like one please see Mrs. Taylor).

A great night was had by all and it was great to see everyone on the dance floor displaying their moves for the majority of the night. The dinner was excellent and the student behavior exemplary, as noted by the venue personnel, security staff, and photographers.

The awards for the evening were warmly received.
