Rutherford College Student Volunteers offer a Helping Hand
Rutherford College is generally known for being a school that maintains a commitment to giving back to its surrounding community. Our vision is to build strong community links. Engaging in community service provides students with the opportunity to become active members of their community.
Students who get involved in community service, realise it is a great way to enhance their own skills and also develop empathy and leadership skills which makes a positive impact with all involved. In addition to the relationships these student volunteers develop with local students, they also enjoy the immense satisfaction of knowing that they’re helping our community.
Throughout Term 3 our students made a valuable contribution at the following events:
• Special Olympics – Football drills and skills
• Primary School Football Field Day
• Amazing Race
• TLC deliveries with Te Atatu Intermediate students and Year 9 Class Kaitiakis
Thank you to all students who have volunteered, you have made such a valuable contribution to our community and have been seen as great ambassadors for our school.
