Kia ora te whanau o te Kotuku Throughout the journey, from a fledging kotuku through…
On Wednesday, 9 September our Dance students from Year 10-13 performed work that was originally scheduled to perform at TAPAC late August.
For the second time this year, Studio Show was cancelled due to Auckland moving into Alert Level 3 but we still managed to pull a show together in a week and a half in the school hall. And what a show it was! Over 100 Rutherford students and staff watched the performances and a professional videographer captured the stunning performances, many of which were for NCEA assessment and scholarship submissions.
Given the disruption and lack of time in the studio, all year levels should feel extremely proud of the standard of their work and the professionalism they demonstrated during the show. I am amazed at the resilience of the senior students who continued to work on their choreography while in Alert Level 3 and put in a huge amount of work outside of the classroom upon their return.
Thank you to the students and staff who came along to support the Dance students in place of a public paying audience, it is hugely appreciated. Dance students can look forward to showing whanau the filmed version of the performance in the next couple of weeks.
