This season the Rutherford Water Polo team were underdogs, having 8 juniors out of a 14 man squad competing in the senior division. This meant the juniors had to step up which they did, above and beyond, as the team was undefeated finishing 1st overall.

The best result was during the knock out games against Waitakere College winning 14-1, and another high scoring game was against Kristin College 12-9.

After knockout games finals began, the first game was against St. Peter’s winning 4-3 and in the final the team beat Auckland Boys Grammar 5-4.

This undefeated season has been the best the waterpolo team has done in 5 years.
