On Wednesday the 18th of May, students from Year 11, 12, and 13 Te Reo…
The sun was out and ready for another successful swimming sports day on Wednesday, 20 February. Over 180 students competed in various races throughout the day. Everyone who got involved battled it out in the water to make it fun and exciting for the audience members and gain points for their houses.
As usual the biggest competition was in the 1 length freestyle with a number of heats. It was a tough competition in some of the heats, but this created close and exhilarating finals.
It was a close battle between the houses but taking the lead was Tama-nui-te-ra (yellow house) followed by Ruaumoko (red house) and just one point behind Tanemahuta (green house). To finish the day off we had the house relays. Taking the win was Ruaumoko, 2nd place was Tama-nui-te-ra and 3rd Tanemahuta.
Saving the best to last we had the Sports Committee, Prefects and Teachers battling it out. Taking the very well deserved, but questioned win was the sports committee, followed by teachers and then prefects.
Congratulations to all the champions and competitors who took to the water to make this an enjoyable day. A special thanks to all the student leaders and staff members who made the day run smoothly and successfully.
