On Saturday, 2 March twelve Rutherford students travelled to Orakei Basin, Mission Bay to compete in the secondary schools Auckland region Waka Ama regatta.

The girls placed 3rd in the U16 W6 250m championship final and made it through to the 500m final. Then both teams then joined together and made their W12 team and finished 1st in their heat.
The U19 Rutherford Boys team consisted of Nicolas Fruean, Gianni Watene, Brook Pickering, Adrian Pakinga, Johnnie Richard-Marsters and Brodie Bennett.
The U16 Rutherford girls team consisted of Nakita Ru, Missy Aramoana, Bella-Rose Day, Nadia Pakinga, Eryka Chard and Paris Pickering.
These teams will be going to the Waka Ama Nationals in Rotoura at the end of March and we wish them the best of luck.
A massive congratulations to these students who represented Rutherford College.
