On Thursday, 15 of August 2019, 8 students from the Computer Programming classes in year 11 and 12, headed to Techtorium in Newmarket for a “Women in IT” presentation. They had the privilege of listening to women who have reached leadership positions in IT companies such as the CEO of ARA, women from MYOB and former Techtorium students now in training roles within the Techtorium company.

During the session, the girls listened to the journeys of these successful women, competed in the tallest spaghetti tower challenge, with one of the Rutherford tables coming 3rd! Followed by a delicious morning tea.

Our students had a great time finding out about the opportunities for women in the IT industry.
