Year 13 OED Trip to Whakapapa

On Tuesday 27 July, 36 Year 13 students and four staff members set out for Whakapapa village for the Year 13 Snow Camp. After six hours of driving the group arrived in a very cold Whakapapa village.

The aim of the trip was ‘risk management’ and developing resilience. The group planned and completed a 20km tramp from the village to Tama Lakes (1310m above sea level) and back.

On Thursday the group either skied or snowboarded for the whole day. On the two activity days, the group was treated to outstanding weather.

A massive thanks to Mr Rossin, Mr Doak, Miss Winter, and Miss Simpson for going on the trip and to all the students who participated in a trip that they will hopefully remember forever.
