On Monday, 3 February, the school year started with a bang. The Year 9’s and peer mentors had the day to themselves to meet, break the ice, and bond with each other.
The 2020 Sports Committee members did a great job organizing and playing games to make the new members of the Rutherford Whanau feel comfortable and excited.
The games were also specific to making the classes work as a team, or go out of their comfort zone, therefore strengthening the bonds between each other.
That afternoon hopefully helped nervous students feel welcome and helped to create new friendships that will last for years to come.
