Mathematics Teacher

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Mathematics teacher to join our faculty. The successful applicant will have a strong understanding of Mathematics and, importantly, experience and confidence teaching Statistics or calculus at senior secondary level.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative department committed to developing students' mathematical thinking, problem-solving skills and confidence.

We are looking for a teacher who:

  • Has a strong background and experience in teaching Mathematics, particularly at senior secondary level.
  • Can teach Mathematics confidently across a range of year levels.
  • Has a sound understanding of the New Zealand Curriculum and NCEA.
  • Can make Statistics relevant, accessible and engaging for students.
  • Enjoys developing students' ability to interpret data, think critically and apply statistical concepts to real-world situations.
  • Uses a range of effective teaching strategies to support students with differing abilities and learning needs.
  • Builds positive, respectful relationships with students and colleagues.
  • Has high expectations for student achievement and engagement.
  • Is collaborative, organised and committed to ongoing professional learning.

We are looking for a teacher who brings enthusiasm, expertise and a genuine passion for Mathematics and Statistics. You will be someone who enjoys challenging students to think deeply, make connections and see the relevance of Mathematics in the world around them.

The terms and conditions, including base salary, for this position is set by the Secondary Teachers Collective Agreement (STCA). The base salary for trained and registered teachers will range from $66,999 to $107,886 depending on the applicant’s qualifications and experience.  An individual’s actual base salary will be established by a salary assessment
