Stationery Requirements
Rutherford has adopted a new pastoral system effective 2026. This means that we no longer have year level Deans. Instead we have moved to instating 2 House Deans for each of our three houses. They will be responsible for classes from Year 9 through to 13 in each of those houses. We believe this will provide a more equitable distribution of time and resources to support our students. Your child may now have a different Dean to support them from now on. You can find the House Dean allocation below.

Every Minute Counts
Did you know that being 10 minutes late every day equates to a week off school a year. Arriving late for school can have a negative impact on the learning of our rangatahi as they can miss out on important instruction and this can also disrupt the teaching and learning of their class. Students can also feel whakama about walking into the class late and this can lead to increased truancy. Arriving on time helps prepare rangatahi for the punctuality expectations of life in the workforce.
You can log in to the School Portal via the Rutherford College Website (top right hand side of the page). The portal is where you can view student timetables, school reports, the school calendar, permissions slips and forms and book parent/teacher conferences when they are open. You can find out how to login here. The school does not provide passwords. The user name is your email address that you have registered with the school. You can log in by using your Google, Facebook or other account as long as that is the same email as the one you have registered with us. Remember if you change your email address, you need to advise the school immediately so that we can update our Student Management System. Email: [email protected] to provide any new information.
Please complete our online enrolment form and then book an interview time to complete the process in 2026. Please complete the online form and someone will be in touch to organise an interview once all information has been received. You will be allocated a House after the enrolment interview.
