Rockquest is New Zealand’s biggest nationwide, live, original music event

On Friday the 5th of June, Indi Botting, Ruby Murphy, Jimmy Egginton, Tuva Botting, and Madi McLellan competed in their band ‘Sidetracked’ at the Auckland central Rockquest regional finals.

Rockquest is New Zealand’s biggest nationwide, live, original music event for secondary school students and this year was Sidetracked’s second time competing. 

After being selected in the top 12 out of 64 from the heats, the pressure was on. 

They played their original songs ‘I Like You’ and ‘The Way You Do It’ and managed to come second place as well as winning best song for ‘I Like You’. 

The top 2 bands get to continue to the next stage and submit a 3-song video, with the chance of making it through to the national finals in Wellington!
