Tuvaluan Group Shares Culture at St Margaret’s Care Home

Last Wednesday, August 20, members of our Tuvaluan Group visited St Margaret’s Care Home to share their culture with residents. The students performed two traditional dances before leading an engaging Question and Answer session about Tuvalu.

Group leader Ruta Samisoni explained that the experience was especially meaningful, as respecting elders and caring for others are important values in Tuvaluan culture.

The visit was made even more special when two St Margaret’s staff members joined in the performances alongside our students. Recreational Therapist Girlie Omambac expressed her gratitude, saying she was impressed by how warmly the students connected with residents and how proudly they represented our school.
