Tūrangawaewae spreads holiday cheer

Tūrangawaewae spreads holiday cheer

Tūrangawaewae rangatahi took to our local community to spread some holiday cheer today! First they visited St Margaret’s Resthome, where they gave residents homemade Christmas cards, performed a Siva dance they have been practicing and sung waiata and carols to a very warm and enthusiastic audience. The residents were so happy to receive the Christmas cheer, they sang us some thank you songs as a gift in return! We all joined in with “It’s a long way to Tipperary” and “You are my sunshine”.

Next we headed to our local harbourside at Orangihina for a picnic and to hide some painted Christmas rocks for children to find in the area.

We came back to school feeling grateful and with warm hearts after these little acts of holiday kindness for our local community. Meri Kirihimete from Tūrangawaewae!
