Mitchell Sparke recently showcased his musical talents at the NZ Pipe Band Nationals

Mitchell Sparke recently showcased his musical talents at the NZ Pipe Band Nationals, representing the City of Sails Pipeband. The band has been diligently practising since January, preparing for this prestigious event. 

Mitchell described the experience as both exciting and memorable. He particularly enjoyed Mace flourishing alongside the Drum Sergeant, a skill that adds flair and precision to the band’s performance. Another highlight for him was participating in the Mass Band performance, where 50 bands played together, creating an unforgettable sound and sense of camaraderie. 

We are proud of Mitchell for his dedication and commitment, and it’s inspiring to see our students excel on a national stage while sharing their passion for music. If anyone is interested in learning the bagpipes, Mitchell recommends getting in touch with the City of Sails Pipeband.
