Our 3rd Pasifika/Maori West Auckland Mathex Competition was hosted at Rutherford College
On Thursday, 30th July Avah, Ferrucci, Maia Gascoigne, Peyton Matai’a, Lennox Nimalota-Johnson, Sam Richards, Kaia Cash, Cohen Casley, Kori Churchill, Sharlotte Naicker, Khaedon Nootai, Tata’imata Salaivao and Marley Wright hosted our 3rd Pasifika/Maori West Auckland Mathex Comp at Rutherford College in 2026.
This was our final MathEx before the grand final at the University of Auckland. We all tried our absolute hardest and I believe that this was our best one to date. Every school tried their hardest and I truly believe that all the effort we put in at home and school was worth it - Kori Churchill 10RNI.
I had lots of fun at this week's MathEx competition and am sad that this will be one of our last times competing in this competition. Big thanks to the team of individuals hosting it for allowing us to participate in this and meet so many new people from all over Auckland. Although we lost, we tried our hardest, and had lots of fun doing it - Cohen Casley 10TCA.
I had a great time participating in this week's MathEx competition, but I'm sad that it will be our final time. We would like to express our gratitude to the group of people organising it for giving us the opportunity to take part and meet so many new people from all across Auckland. Even though we didn't win, we gave it our all and had a great time - Sharlotte Naicker 10TBR.
I feel like this time it was a lot more fun even if we didn’t end up placing anywhere. Although I am upset it’s almost over, this experience is one I’m so happy I got to have and I hope the next year nines have just as much fun as I did - Kaia Cash 10RNI.
It was a very interesting experience and even though we didn’t place this time, I feel like we have learned a lot and it’s really cool to be able to see improvement and learn new things every time! - Peyton Matai’a 9RSA
It was really exciting as our second to last MathEx for the year. I hope we see improvement for the final - Maia Gascoigne 9MYK
It was really fun, and even though we didn't do as good as previous times, I think we can do better next time - Avah, Ferrucci 9TAH
Ngā mihi nui Mr Talamaivao for organizing us.
