This year’s Rutherford Day was a special opportunity to welcome back former pupil Dr Ravi Priyanti as our guest speaker. Dr Ravi graduated from Rutherford College in 2012.
Returning to the school where she spent her formative years, Dr Priyanti reflected on her time at Rutherford and the experiences that helped shape the person she has become. Her message to our students was both simple and powerful: there is only one you.
She encouraged students to make the most of their time at school, to embrace opportunities, discover what they are passionate about and not be afraid to be themselves.
She spoke of her own journey from a Rutherford student to a neuropsychologist, researcher, CEO, and Chief Medical Officer who focuses on workplace burnout, leadership, and mental wellness using neuroscience. Her address to the students demonstrated there are many different pathways to success. Dr Priyanti spoke honestly about the importance of making the most of every opportunity, building meaningful connections and recognising that your school years are a unique time in your life.
It was wonderful to see a former Rutherford student return to share her story and inspire the next generation. Her message was a reminder that every student has their own strengths, talents and potential.
