It was to say the least one of the most mixed bag experiences.
It was, to say the least, one of the most mixed bag experiences. While yes it was daunting, it was really nerve wracking but I felt like we played amazingly, and that it was a really great experience all round.

My last experience at KBB Music Festival 2026 was incredibly fun and enjoyable as usual. I love having the opportunity to listen to the talent of my peers as well as having access to play on instruments that we do not own at Rutherford. I have only ever had good experiences at KBB and it is an incredibly bittersweet experience to have played my last.

This year's KBB festival was special to me because it was my very last of five. In Year 9 I was selected to participate in the KBB Honours group, and have been fortunate to be selected every year since. At first I started off as a very timid year nine that didn't know anyone, to now where I was surrounded by many of my new and old friends and great musicians. Playing under Jeffrey Boeckman in the Honors Orchestra was an awesome experience even though he made us say Aloha many many times. Each year KBB gives a different experience and opportunity, even if you don't get Burger Fuel. It has been so amazing to see the band grow from when I was in Year 9, to now in Year 13 where we were awarded a Silver award. I can't wait to see how much more the band achieves in its future.
Have fun grading our DGE's thanks! -Charlotte Marriott
