Praveena MS of 12WO has received a Distinction Award for her Diploma in Fine Arts in Indian Carnatic Music (Classical Vocal) from the University of London this year. This exam is conducted by the Auckland Academy of Fine Arts where Praveen has been topping her batch in Indian Carnatic Music (Vocal) for the past three consecutive years. This year she is pursuing her Teachers’ Diploma in Fine Arts. Praveena has been learning Indian Carnatic music for more than ten years she also plays the Carnatic keyboard and violin.
Praveena is currently one of our Year 12 Music students and hopes to do more collaborative performances and workshops with the various cultural groups. She has participated and continues to participate in events held in Auckland and Singapore. She also volunteers her time singing for charity events organised by the Indian and Sri Lankan organisations in Auckland.
