Earlier this month we were amazed by the talent of some of our junior students at the junior speech competition. We had a lot more year 10 students putting their names forward this year and there was a range of thought-provoking topics such as racial discrimination, Te Tiriti o Waitangi, pollution, renewable energy, autism and social media to name a few.
It is not easy to stand up and speak in front of a room of 70 people, but our students were well-prepared and gave it their best.
A big thank you to our judges Whaea Stacey, Mr Solomone and Ms Ball and all other staff members who helped out.
Ruby Carter, Jayd Heke-Tautai, Asia Wrigley and Logan Dennis all deserve a special mention as winners in their respective categories - Ka mau te wehi!
