Herzlichen Glueckwunsch/ Congratulations to Nico Curran who won a scholarship earlier this year to attend the prestigious German Immersion Weekend, which was hosted by the Goethe-Institut in Wellington last weekend. 

The Goethe-Institut is Germany’s official cultural institute, committed to promoting the German language and fostering international cultural exchange. The German Immersion Weekend was designed to encourage and reward young learners of German across New Zealand.

Nico’s outstanding commitment to his German studies stood out among applicants, earning him this fully funded opportunity. The weekend experience included return flights to Wellington, airport pickup, accommodation, all meals,  visit to the German Embassy and a dynamic program filled with interactive and engaging activities. 

One of Nico’s highlights was the lunch at the German ambassador’s residence and learning about employment and study opportunities with German. Nico also enjoyed getting to know some other German language learners from all across New Zealand.
