Concert Band performs at Te Atatu Library

Concert Band performs at Te Atatu Library

Our illustrious Concert Band delivered a heartwarming and impressive performance at the Te Atatū Library on Friday 6th June, drawing in a large audience of whānau, friends, local community members and proud supporters. The event highlighted not only the talent and dedication of our young musicians, but also the power of music to bring people together.

Set among the welcoming and vibrant atmosphere of the library, the band played a varied programme of well-rehearsed pieces that showcased their growing skill and musicality. The audience, which included many parents and members of the wider community, responded enthusiastically, showing their appreciation through warm applause and praise throughout the event. The crowd absolutely enjoyed hearing Pink Panther, household favourites from the Lion King and a Million Dreams from the Greatest Showman

Performing in a public space like the library offered the students a special opportunity to connect with the community and experience the joy of sharing their music outside of our rehearsal space. It was especially meaningful to see so many parents in attendance, supporting not just their own children, but the collective efforts of the entire ensemble.

A big thank you to our whanau who assisted with transporting our gear to and from the venue and fa'afetai tele lava to the dedicated teachers, especially our band director Mrs Antonina Marriott, who helped make this performance possible. Their guidance, encouragement and countless hours of rehearsal preparation were clearly reflected in the confidence and unity of the group. Their hard work ensures that opportunities like this continue to thrive and inspire our students. Special mention to our Kotuku Brass ensemble who also performed a few pieces for the concert. Thank you also to our very own compère, Siddhant Pant, for introducing each piece.

Congratulations to the Concert Band on a successful and memorable performance — a true celebration of music, teamwork, and community spirit.
